Graduate
I enrolled in Colorado State University's English education graduate program in August 2013. My graduate research focused on literacy education and science fiction's abilities to excite students' passions and its ability to serve as a gateway to learning in the STEM fields. This research also examined high/low culture divisions in education and employed various critical theory lenses.
While pursuing my master's, I taught 1-2 composition courses each semester.
I received my master's degree in English Education in May 2016.
Undergraduate
I enrolled at Colorado State University full time in 2009, majoring in English with a creative writing concentration. My studies focused primarily on literary criticism, as well as rhetorical and fiction writing. I also took three years of Japanese language courses. During my senior year, I was the lead non-fiction editor for Greyrock Review, CSU's undergraduate literary journal. I became a member of Sigma Tau Delta: The English Honor Society in the same year.
I graduated from CSU in May 2013, receiving a B.A. in English.
High School
I graduated from Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2007.
